great boots These boots took a long time to break in. It was worth the wait, though. I wore them around the house alot but after a 13 mile trek through the Adirondacks they feel like puffy slippers. Very rugged, excellent for bushwacking. I had a hard time getting the right size, but I think that's because I have strange feet. Very happy with these boots!
Great Boots! My husband got the men's Torre GTX, and loved them so much he insisted that I try on the women's version. I was a little resistant-- being new to hiking I thought I should be looking at the lighter weight shoes. I ended up getting them, and I absolutely love them. I have never noticed any weight, even after a long day hiking. I didn't find they they took any time to break in, maybe because I started off slower. I do notice that each time I put them on they seem snug, but by the time I start walking they are just the right fit. They even come with lacing instructions that tell you how to relieve different stress/discomfort problems. They are very supportive, have great traction, and have kept my feet dry through all kinds of puddles and muck.
torre gtx hiking boot I just completed the Inca Trail which was an extremely challenging hike. The boots provided excellent support and comfort over the 31 miles of extreme up and down steep terrain.

Training Tips
One of the most mentally toughening things you can do as a runner who trains daily is to add a morning run into your routine. This means you are doing two runs a day. The morning run is simply more of a mental challenge then anything else.
Have two pairs of running shoes, especially if you live in a wet climate. Consider replacing your shoes no later than 500 miles into the life of the shoes.

Proper hydration for a run includes drinking 30 - 45 minutes before you start and about a cup every 10 - 15 minutes while running.
One of the best ways to win a running race is to win it in your mind first. Visualize yourself running and winning that important race. The more often you do this, you will start to "feel" the race. Your heart will get pumping and your body will feel the effort required to get the job done.
