Bridgedale Ski Midweight Sock
The Ski Midweight sock by Bridgedale offers a happy medium between a thick insulating sock and a thin performance-fit sock. Generally, the better skier you become, the thinner the sock you desire because you want to feel the boot with your foot as much as possible for better control. This midweight sock has a thermal toe box for those skiers who don't require maximum foot-boot sensitivity, and who appreciate toasty toes. An articulated Y-heel and forward flex construction provide a perfect fit inside performance boots, as well as reduce bunching at the front of the ankle. A padded shin area minimizes the effects of boot bang-ouch!-after you drop that 30 footer.

Ski Midweight Sock Got lots of use at Copper Mt. in late March. Kept my feet nice and warm for the most part. Would definitely recommend them!
Perfect balance of feel and comfort These socks were slightly thinner than I expected, but after a grueling Park City weekend I can assure you that they provide excellent padding and protection with minimal bulk. I bought one pair to try, I'm going to buy several more, I'm that happy with them.
Bridgedale ski sock Love the socks!
squishy in all the right places If you're looking for a sock that isn't too thick but protects you in some of the spots where ski boots tend to get you sore, these are the ones. The shin padding is my favorite. They are also just the thickness to use for watching TV. Nice and toasty, but not hot. Dig 'em.

Training Tips
Heart monitors are useful for knowing when you are in the right zone for your training efforts. If you understand what your maximum heart rate is, you can set up your monitor to beep at you when you exceed the high or low range of your heart rate for the type of workout you are doing.
Cross training gives your body a chance to recover while still exercising. If yesterday has a hard run day up and down hills, then today's bicycle ride gives your aching knees a well deserved break.

Anaeroic threshold is when lactic acid starts to build up in your body as your muscles are not getting the oxygen they require. This threshold is typically expressed as a percentage of your VO2 max - the amount of oxygen per kilogram of weight that a person can use in converting fuel to energy. Elite athletes threshold might be as high as 90% of VO2 max.
Efficient running position allows you to run farther and faster. Keep the heel raise to a minimum, relax your upper body and hands, keep your upper body poised and quiet.
