Nike Timing Triax CV10 Heart Rate Monitor Pedometer Watch

The Nike Triax CV10 Heart Rate Monitor Watch is perhaps the ultimate runner's training tool. The CV10 monitors and compiles data from a heart rate monitor chest strap and a speed sensor foot strap. Target zones can be set for both pace and heart rate to help keep you in your optimal training zone. The CV10 can store data for up to 100 laps with heart rate, pace and other data. All three parts have battery hatches that let you change the batteries yourself.

Training Watch Extraordinaire
There is nothing like having the ability to track your pace in addition to heart rate; this watch is a great package overall. On the plus side, the ergonomic fit is great, complemented by a big, easy-to-read display. Both monitors are relatively comfortable and user friendly. Conversely, this watch doesn't seem to be built to stand up to everyday wear and tear; it's more of a delicate training tool than a day-in-day-out time-teller. Interface is fairly intuitive, although I have seen better setups/button feel. That said, as a training tool, this watch still deserves 4+ of 5. You'll LOVE the ability to pace yourself with your newfound insight on pace (mi/min), distance, and heart rate.

Training Tips

Did you know that to lose approximately one pound of fat, an average adult would have to walk 30 miles? You don't have to walk those 30 miles all at once.

If you consume 100 calories a day more than you need, you will gain about 10 pounds in a year.  A reasonable combination of diet and exercise can help control your weight.  The key is to balance your caloric intake with the amount of exercise.

You can increase your maximum oxygen consumption by approximately 15% when you work out three times a week for at least 30 minutes at 70% of your maximum heart rate.

Low weight, high rep circuit training combines the best of both worlds: aerobic and anaerobic training.  Keeping the rest time in between high repeats low excercises like bench press, leg presses, inclined sit-ups, and upright rows is the key to maximum benefits.
