Giro Nine.9 Helmet
The Giro Nine.9 helmet is light and tough. Built for skiers and snowboards who spend all day every day in their helmets, the Nine.9 is designed for comfort. In-mold construction bonds a flylight shell to a high-performance EPS liner for an unbeatable strength-to-weight ratio. 12 supercharged vents are as cool as you want to be, with Weatherstrip vent plugs to seal warmth in and cold out. Removable earpads, the Giro Goggle Notch and gapless goggle fit are proven Giro features that round out the Nine.9. Giro will donate a portion of the White/Flames Nine.9 sales to benefit the fight against breast cancer through the Boarding for Breast Cancer Foundation. The Nine.9 is TuneUps compatible. –Vendor

Less bang for the buck If you’re like me and you work all day in the snow it matters what you have on your head. It can sometimes however be dictated by price. The Nine is a great alternative. It is a snug fitting yet comfortable helmet that will save your brain cells for the après ski bar, not the patrol room. It also costs less than many helmets that don't fit quite as well.
Great look and fit I tried on a lot of helmets before settling on the nine. It is very comfy, and allows you to vent heat out the top on the warm days. This helmet can't be beat at any price.
Giro 9 helmet Pretty kick ass. Light and cozy, also purchased the tune up kit. This site has great deals. I will be shopping here more often.
Giro Nine Helmet Great Helmet. Lightest helmet I've owned to date. Got a great price at BackCountry. Herb D
Comfy and good price! Great helmet, great price.. The inserts inside allow for cooling although maybe not as easy as sliding something to do it on the run... but then again you kind of know if its cold or hot so you can prepare before you put it on... I bought the tune-ups later and love them. It's nice and you get pretty decent sound out of it.

Training Tips
If you want to make progess in your training, join a running group. A commitment to meet on a regular basis with a group of like minded individuals will help you keep your focus.
An efficient long distance running stride will have you landing on your heal first and rolling to the front of your toes.

One of the most mentally toughening things you can do as a runner who trains daily is to add a morning run into your routine. This means you are doing two runs a day. The morning run is simply more of a mental challenge then anything else.
Have two pairs of running shoes, especially if you live in a wet climate. Consider replacing your shoes no later than 500 miles into the life of the shoes.
