Giro Fuse TuneUps

The Giro Fuse TuneUps let you convert your currently boring Fuse helmet into a beat pumping party helmet. Though we don't suggest wearing your Fuse to an actual party, unless you deem it necessary, the TuneUps kit will keep you pumped while you're on your skis or snowboard. The kit includes a set of headphone earpads, that replace your current boring ones, the cord that plugs into your MP3, iPod, mini disc or AM radio. The travel case holds up to 10 CD's or your audio player. *Fits all year models of Fuse helmets.

Giro Tuneups II
Absolutely Fabulous for both iPods and cell phones - I have both in my cell phone. Get the right phone adapter to stereo plug if you need one. The wrong one can seriously degrade volume. Thanks!

Giro Fuse TuneUps I & II
These guys were terrific in my exchanging the T1 for a T2! I have a Nokia 6230 with a built in iPod (and it does take a 1GB MMC (if the firmware is 4.43!). There is only one adapter to headphones available for it that takes a 1/8" sub-mini plug. The TuneUp I is only designed for playback with a 3/32" mini-plug. The T-II has both plugs - the smaller for cell phones. My first 1/8" adapter was a Belkin bought at Target and the sound level was horridly low. I almost gave up, then I bought another at a Cingular store and sounds levels were terrific. Can't wait to go skiing!! And this site is my retail choice! Carl

Training Tips

You can increase your maximum oxygen consumption by approximately 15% when you work out three times a week for at least 30 minutes at 70% of your maximum heart rate.

Low weight, high rep circuit training combines the best of both worlds: aerobic and anaerobic training.  Keeping the rest time in between high repeats low excercises like bench press, leg presses, inclined sit-ups, and upright rows is the key to maximum benefits.

As a long distance runner, a gradual increase in distance each week will allow you to build a solid areobic base.  Distance increase should be no more than 10% of the previous week's distance.

When buying a new pair of running shoes, bring your old ones with you.  You will get a better fit if you know if you supinate or pronate.
