The North Face Nuptse Vest - Men's

Insulated with 700-fill down, the Nuptse Vest is extremely warm, lightweight and highly compressible. Wear it alone for use in cold, dry conditions or under a weatherproof shell for warmth and complete snow and rain protection. You should always carry extra clothing when playing in the backcountry and the Nuptse Vest compresses so small there is always room for it in your backpack. It is perfect for staying warm during lunch breaks. The sewn-through construction keeps down from shifting, which reduces cold spots, and a double layer of taffeta at the shoulders reduces wear and tear. Two zippered hand warmer pockets keep your fingers toasty warm.

Versatile down protection
I've owned a Nuptse Vest for over six years and the uses are endless. I've even used it as a pillow on many occations. But the primary use is that of a versatile layering peice which can stow to the size of a small flat cantaloupe. On the coldest of days I'll start with a fleece followed by the vest. To make everything stick together I zip in the fleece which locks in the vest between my shell and fleece. I opted for the vest over the jacket for mobility purposes when layering. The Nuptse Vest also works well as mid-section protection in milder weather over a wind proof fleece. Bottom line the name of the game here is versatility.

Nuptse Vest Review - Wheat
The Wheat colour is more of a Dark Gold colour than a Beige. Normally North Face gear has more padding - missing some feathers I think.

Great Christmas Gift Shopping
My son requested a North Face Vest for Christmas. I live a rural area so shopping at backcountry.com was great. He loves his new vest and has told me he wears it every day. He lives in Helen, MT. The shopping experience was great. If found just what I needed and it arrived at my home within 3 days of my order. Thanks

Training Tips

Did you know that to lose approximately one pound of fat, an average adult would have to walk 30 miles? You don't have to walk those 30 miles all at once.

If you consume 100 calories a day more than you need, you will gain about 10 pounds in a year.  A reasonable combination of diet and exercise can help control your weight.  The key is to balance your caloric intake with the amount of exercise.

You can increase your maximum oxygen consumption by approximately 15% when you work out three times a week for at least 30 minutes at 70% of your maximum heart rate.

Low weight, high rep circuit training combines the best of both worlds: aerobic and anaerobic training.  Keeping the rest time in between high repeats low excercises like bench press, leg presses, inclined sit-ups, and upright rows is the key to maximum benefits.
