Spyder Alta Jacket - Mens

Spyder's Alta jacket, like it's namesake, is a skiing classic. Absolutely unique and unquestionably sacred, the Alta gives you access to all the goods. Perhaps because Alta is so dear to us, we simply can't resist the Alta Jacket. Hidden within the Alta is a veritable stash of skier goodies including an internal mesh goggle pocket, a chamois lens wipe cloth on a retractable coil, and a pass pocket. If you prefer blasting through powder with tunes blaring, or you use a 2-way radio, the Alta accommodates with an internal MCD pocket with weatherproof antenna opening. When warmer temps call for it, zip off the sleeves to make a vest—they store conveniently in a back pocket. Even when its warm and the sleeves stay on, you'll have excellent climate control as the Alta is far more breathable than most ski jackets on the market. But the coolest feature of the Alta is Spyder's unique X-Static insulation which contains a silver-coated fiber that reduces odor and increases warmth. When it's dumping Alta style, this jacket's high water-resistance shields like armor, and you can always deploy the removable, rollaway hood for extra weather protection.

Alta Spyder Jacket
This jacket is so good that I have had trouble getting the undergarmets right. I have been too hot, not cold. I am going to buy more stuff from these guys.

Great
This jacket is the best I have ever had. It has a very nice fit and keeps you warm beyond belief. If you have the extra bucks buy this jacket.

Alta Jacket
This is an excellent jacket. Used it for the first time in Fernie, CA. in warm to cold conditions, it keeps you evenly warm and does not overheat when it is sunny. The flexibility and quality of this jacket is well worth the cost especially if you ski regularly.

The best
This jacket has everything!! One of the best features is the season pass holder. The holder has a clear window that remains outside the jacket so the lift operators can clearly see it. I know it's expensive but it's worth the money if you're a serious skier.

Training Tips

If you consume 100 calories a day more than you need, you will gain about 10 pounds in a year.  A reasonable combination of diet and exercise can help control your weight.  The key is to balance your caloric intake with the amount of exercise.

You can increase your maximum oxygen consumption by approximately 15% when you work out three times a week for at least 30 minutes at 70% of your maximum heart rate.

Low weight, high rep circuit training combines the best of both worlds: aerobic and anaerobic training.  Keeping the rest time in between high repeats low excercises like bench press, leg presses, inclined sit-ups, and upright rows is the key to maximum benefits.

As a long distance runner, a gradual increase in distance each week will allow you to build a solid areobic base.  Distance increase should be no more than 10% of the previous week's distance.
