The North Face Chilkats Winter Boot - Men's

The North Face Chilkats are a warm and insulated winter boot you'll love to chill in. If you buy only one boot for this winter the indomitable Chilkat should be it. The North Face Winter Grip rubber outsole will help prevent embarrassing diggers, and double adhesive latex with seam sealed construction will keep the elements out of your boots. A gaiter compatible D-ring further ensures that the snow stays where it belongs, outta your boot. The Chilkat fits comfortably with an anatomically-engineered design. An injection-molded shank plate provides extra support and stability as you negotiate snow and ice. For this caliber of boot, the Chilkats are a great value.

Boots
These boots keep my feet nice and toasty and dry all of the time. I live in the rainy northwest and bike to work daily. I have had no problems whatsoever with these boots. The North Face is the only brand I will buy period, because of their designs, comfort, price, and most of all quality!

Keeps my feet warm...only problem I got with it is the top part of the boot rubs against my leg, but a thicker sock should fix the problem. But overall it's a great quality.

The North Face Chilkats - Mens
The boots are great. They keep my feet warm and dry even in this extreme New York winter we're having. I wish they were a little more square-toed; my left foot is bigger than my right and it was uncomfortable squished, but since the insoles are removable (a big plus), I was able to switch it for a thinner one and that solved my problem. I also wish they were available in a 100% synthetic version. I hate buying animal-derived products, but they're mostly synthetic anyway. The shopping experience was good: accurate picture/description; good price; fast delivery (they arrived on the coldest wettest day of the year, so that couldn't have been more perfect). Overall, a very good product that I would recommend.

The North Face does it again
I've had trouble with North Face gear in the past; broken zippers, delaminating Gore-Tex Etc... But I figured I'd give them one more try and buy some of these boots. They are warm they are stylish but the seam on one of the tongues is already ripping, after only one months use! Do yourself a favor if you actually use your outdoor equipment. Don't buy things made by The North Face.

LOVEN' THESE BOYS ALOT...
Great boots. I've been wearing them for about two weeks now in weather from -5F degrees to 30F degrees in snow and sleet. These babies have kept my feet warm and dry. I’ve gotta have warm and dry feet.

Training Tips

You can increase your maximum oxygen consumption by approximately 15% when you work out three times a week for at least 30 minutes at 70% of your maximum heart rate.

Low weight, high rep circuit training combines the best of both worlds: aerobic and anaerobic training.  Keeping the rest time in between high repeats low excercises like bench press, leg presses, inclined sit-ups, and upright rows is the key to maximum benefits.

As a long distance runner, a gradual increase in distance each week will allow you to build a solid areobic base.  Distance increase should be no more than 10% of the previous week's distance.

When buying a new pair of running shoes, bring your old ones with you.  You will get a better fit if you know if you supinate or pronate.
