Salomon Tech Amphibian Shoe - Men's
Salomon Tech Amphibian Shoes blur the line between sandals and shoes. They protect your feet like shoes but drain water like a sandal. And the synthetic mesh upper and Kevlar laces won't absorb water so you don't have to carry around extra weight until your shoes dry. The Tech Amphibian was built for professional river guides, canyoneers and adventure racers who make frequent transitions between wet and dry environments. The adjustable, collapsible back folds out of the way when you need a slip on for a quick jaunt out of your tent in the middle of the night. They fit very well with neoprene socks for cold weather protection.

Yes, for adventure racing These are great! I have had no slippage--on wet rocks, on moss-covered rocks, with the heel strap, or with the lacing strap. If you are in/around water during the summer, you will love these shoes. They will not bog you down in the water as they do not carry any water weight after you submerge them. They're super sticky on underwater surfaces. Tech Amphibs are light and will protect your feet unlike your Tevas. They're also great to wear around with no socks as they breathe very well.
They are as good as advertised I use my Tech Amphibian shoes when I am out in the lake, and out on my jet ski. They have preformed awsome and are exactly what I had hoped for in the shoe when I purchased them. Although they are not the as good as I expected on slippery rocksIi encounter in the lake, they have been great so far.
Great for disc golf Bought these for my son to wear disk golfing. The local disk golf courses tend to be swampy and he had ruined several other pairs of shoes. They give enough support and dry out quickly. He's found them comfortable enough to wear for other activities.
Wear Them Everyday Best shoes ever. Throw them in the washer. Get them wet. Slip them on, don't pull the heel up and wear them as quick sandle to grab something from the car. SUPER ventilated for the 100-degree plus days. Feet don't hurt. Light weight. Great grip on every surface so far. Looks cool. Quick cinch on the heel strap to snug the foot for a quick run. Never had so many people ask where I got my shoes. Great price on this site. Feet haven't barked yet. One complaint, they don't dry as fast as I thought they would.
Very satisfied... I read some skeptical reviews before I bought the shoes, but I don't have any fit problems or problems with any flaps that are reported to give some problems. I've run with them in an ultramarathon this past weekend, so they're definitely trailworthy. Extremely light due to all the mesh - remains to be seen if the cushioning is comparable to other trail shoes. Very practical in wet conditions.

Training Tips
As a long distance runner, a gradual increase in distance each week will allow you to build a solid areobic base. Distance increase should be no more than 10% of the previous week's distance.
When buying a new pair of running shoes, bring your old ones with you. You will get a better fit if you know if you supinate or pronate.

Heart monitors are useful for knowing when you are in the right zone for your training efforts. If you understand what your maximum heart rate is, you can set up your monitor to beep at you when you exceed the high or low range of your heart rate for the type of workout you are doing.
Cross training gives your body a chance to recover while still exercising. If yesterday has a hard run day up and down hills, then today's bicycle ride gives your aching knees a well deserved break.
