The Expert Low offers just the right amount of flex and traction to handle a wide variety of off-road terrain (we categorize it as a Hiking BOOT for a reason). Its Contagrip sole blends a variety of rubber textures to give optimal performance in a multi-terrain environment. The Expert Low is made from full grain nubuck and split suede leather, and has a protective rubber toe & heel wrap to stave off rocks and terrain. Equipped with one pull lacing & cleats that grab and hold your laces for secure fit.

Definitely Consider Salomon should take the "hiking boot" label out of the name. They feel and respond just like cross-trainers. Ultra comfortable with plenty of support for going anywhere.
Great boots I got these boots for a weeklong hike through the Italian Alps. I could not have done it without them. The traction was superb and the cost was even better. They show no wear and will probably be that way for a long time. Salomon is a great company as is backcountry.
Lots of comments This boot is just a little more "aggressive" in fit and feel than the Exclaim (which I also have), but it has a similar comfort. And, boy, it looks great and gets lots of comments. And isn't that really the most important thing?
Salomon's Expert Low Hikers These are my fifth pair. They're the greatest for everything from walking around town to tackling all-day hikes!! Regarding sizes - I have to go up 1/2 size U.S. to get the fit I need.
GREAT SERVICE, GREAT SHOES!!! I received my pair of Salomon Expert hiking boots just in time for my vacations, as promised by your sales person. I love the shoes and I sincerely thank you for helping me with a fast processing of my order to accomodate my departure.

Training Tips
If you want to make progess in your training, join a running group. A commitment to meet on a regular basis with a group of like minded individuals will help you keep your focus.
An efficient long distance running stride will have you landing on your heal first and rolling to the front of your toes.

One of the most mentally toughening things you can do as a runner who trains daily is to add a morning run into your routine. This means you are doing two runs a day. The morning run is simply more of a mental challenge then anything else.
Have two pairs of running shoes, especially if you live in a wet climate. Consider replacing your shoes no later than 500 miles into the life of the shoes.
