KEEN Newport H2 Sandal - Mens
The Newport H2 protects your toes from rigging and rocks and puts hydrophobic material against your skin so your feet will feel dry minutes after stepping out of the water. Even in a well-maintained boat sans holes, your chances of getting your feet wet are extremely good. If you're getting in and out of a kayak or canoe, there's no avoiding stepping in water. Enter the Keen Newport H2 Sandal. The Newport H2 protects your toes, and its sole grips deck and ground without leaving marks. A fully synthetic upper puts hydrophobic material against your skin. The Newport H2's hybrid shoe/sandal design is more comfortable than a full shoe and protects your foot better than a sandal. The unique anatomical outsole gives superb traction and support on sea and land, and an anti-bacterial footbed controls moisture and keeps the stank under control.

Great shoe - almost These shoes have great rubber and serve well as rock climbing approach shoes. Except they have one major flaw. I have had two pairs, each for less than 1 month and the tab at the back has pulled off one shoe on each pair in 2 and 3 weeks respectively. (And I was more careful about pulling on the tab on the second pair!) You should be able to expect to pull on this tab to get your foot into the shoe (and clip them onto a biner to carry up a climb).
KEEN Newport H2 Sandal These sandals have served extremely well on a week trip to the Boundary Waters as well as for casual use around the lake. I originally tried Soloman Tech Amphibians however my feet are too wide. These have a wide footbed and roomy toe box yet the lacing system readily takes out any excess space and ensures a good fit. The rubber front offers complete protection that other water sandals just can't compare to. I definitely recommend these!
Excellent shoes! These shoes have been great in the Arizona desert! It's nice that there's finally a set of rugged, comfortable sandals with closed toes! The anti-bacterial insole has proven effective as well (no Teva-like funk after several wearings!) An excellent purchase; worth the price!
The Best These sandals are by far the best sandals I have ever owned, I wear them almost everywhere I go. They are comfortable and have great support. I have tried almost every brand of sandal made; I have finally found the Holy Grail of Sandals. Worth Every Penny.
Cool Sandals--great toe protection I have to say the first time I saw these they peaked my interest. Once I got them on my feet they kept my feet happy and interested. I'm a lazy walker and I stub my toes all the time. Now they are protected. The Keen H2 is super comfortable and supportive. I love the footbed and the straps. They are tight to get on but that only makes them fit better. They handle both land and water with no problems. I like the look after I got use to them.

Training Tips
Cross training gives your body a chance to recover while still exercising. If yesterday has a hard run day up and down hills, then today's bicycle ride gives your aching knees a well deserved break.
Anaeroic threshold is when lactic acid starts to build up in your body as your muscles are not getting the oxygen they require. This threshold is typically expressed as a percentage of your VO2 max - the amount of oxygen per kilogram of weight that a person can use in converting fuel to energy. Elite athletes threshold might be as high as 90% of VO2 max.

Efficient running position allows you to run farther and faster. Keep the heel raise to a minimum, relax your upper body and hands, keep your upper body poised and quiet.
If you want to make progess in your training, join a running group. A commitment to meet on a regular basis with a group of like minded individuals will help you keep your focus.
