Black Diamond Stratos Glove

The Black Diamond Stratos Glove laughs in the face of cold weather. Haha! The Stratos is insulated with high-loft Polartec Thermal Pro to give great warmth without making you feel like you're in boxing gloves. Kevlar thread stitching and a Pittards Goatskin leather palm make the Stratos super tough, but supple and dexterous. An extended gauntlet with shock cord closure seals out the cold air and snow, and a waterproof liner keeps you dry when the weather really socks in. If you want one glove that does it all on the mountain, the Stratos is it.

Stratos Glove
Good glove. The leather palm works well. I use the gloves for Ski Patrol so dexterity needs to be good. The less you have to remove your gloves the better off you are. The removable liner adds flexibility for warmer days when a lighter-weight liner is all that is necessary. They’ve kept my hands warm on the coldest days so far. I recommend the gloves.

The glove fits my hands very well and they are very warm (rated -27 celcius). I like them a lot but I would like them to be easier to work with - so only 4 out of 5.

Training Tips

Did you know that to lose approximately one pound of fat, an average adult would have to walk 30 miles? You don't have to walk those 30 miles all at once.

If you consume 100 calories a day more than you need, you will gain about 10 pounds in a year.  A reasonable combination of diet and exercise can help control your weight.  The key is to balance your caloric intake with the amount of exercise.

You can increase your maximum oxygen consumption by approximately 15% when you work out three times a week for at least 30 minutes at 70% of your maximum heart rate.

Low weight, high rep circuit training combines the best of both worlds: aerobic and anaerobic training.  Keeping the rest time in between high repeats low excercises like bench press, leg presses, inclined sit-ups, and upright rows is the key to maximum benefits.
