Black Diamond Patrol Glove

Created for the unique demands of snow professionals, the Patrol Glove provides maximum freedom of movement for working with tools, straps, ropes, and avy equipment. A supple shell made of Pittards waterproof leather serves up all the dexterity needed in a work glove, while a palm-patch with Kevlar stitching provides unmatched durability. Insulation in the glove is positioned just right so as not to impede mobility and to maximize warmth—5 oz of PrimaLoft lines the back of the hand where blood courses through veins, and insulation is most efficient. A 100% waterproof breathable insert keeps you warm and dry. You'll appreciate a soft microfiber thumb patch that serves as a runny nose wipe. Snow pros the world over will soon have their hands in the totally waterproof Patrol Glove. --Vendor AVAILABLE IN BLACK ONLY.

One suggestion
I have worn the gloves for several weeks now and am very happy with them. I have only one suggestion to improve the preformance. They are thin around the wrist and the wind will cause the back of your wrist to become cold. The dextrity and comfort of the glove is better than I had hoped. I used them while installing a snowblower on a garden tractor and could install even the nuts and bolts with them on. Good glove and should last for years.

Great glove for fast backcountry movers
Black Diamond has always made great gloves but this one is the best. I have problems with ciculation in my fingers and the Patrol glove kept em warm. I don't know how but I think it has something to do with the dexterity of the glove. Because it is so easy to move my fingers when wearing this glove I think it helps with circulation. Great glove for fast backcountry movers.

Patrol Glove
Maybe I was the typical over expectant buyer but I found the glove just ok. Under 15 degrees your fingers or at least mine are going to get cold. It may be that my hand is too large for the XL and therefore cuts the circulation down which could cause coldness in the digits or maybe the glove just isn't that good. Sorry can't rave about this one.

Patrol Glove: You need this one
I gotta tell you I have cold hands when I backcountry ski, I use the Black Diamond Guide Glove because it's the warmest...sometimes too warm. This Patrol glove rocks. It's very warm for it's weight and size. I think the dexterity of the Patrol actually helped to keep my fingers warm. I like the leather super soft and tough. The black patches are great for wiping off miscellaneous liquids from your face. Since I've gotten this glove I use it everyday. I would say this is a must have.

Training Tips

Low weight, high rep circuit training combines the best of both worlds: aerobic and anaerobic training.  Keeping the rest time in between high repeats low excercises like bench press, leg presses, inclined sit-ups, and upright rows is the key to maximum benefits.

As a long distance runner, a gradual increase in distance each week will allow you to build a solid areobic base.  Distance increase should be no more than 10% of the previous week's distance.

When buying a new pair of running shoes, bring your old ones with you.  You will get a better fit if you know if you supinate or pronate.

Heart monitors are useful for knowing when you are in the right zone for your training efforts.  If you understand what your maximum heart rate is, you can set up your monitor to beep at you when you exceed the high or low range of your heart rate for the type of workout you are doing.
