Alpina Cross Terrain Touring Ski

We've been waiting for a long time for a ski like this to come out. The Cross Terrain is a waxless cross country touring ski with significant shape and width to it. (This has the same dimensions that teleskis used to have a couple of years ago!) Are you frustrated by a lack of control with your skinny skis when you point 'em downhill? Try the Alpina Cross Terrain. Short and stable, with an assertive Posigrip base, the Cross Terrain brings a new dimension to your skiing. This is a fun ski for cruising through the woods on undulating terrain that turns well.

great light touring ski
I have used the skis a couple of times. Conditions have been deep and heavy so I have not seen the full ability of the ski. Waiting for the 4-6 inches of superlight and expect the ski will perform admirably. Moves fast and effortlessly through the pow. Perfect ski for the rolling terrain on Rabbit Ears Pass outside of Steamboat Springs.

The lightest all-round big mtn. ski for alpine touring
My position description requires me to be out on the mountain daily conducting snow surveys, terrain assessment dangers and contacting/educating the public. I have to have a ski that is light weight and capable of skiing everything. I only wear skins when I have to, it takes time to apply them and then remove them again. To me any extra weight equals how fast I can respond to situations as they occur, I have to be able to travel

Training Tips

As your fitness improves over time by following a carefully planned fitness program, your ability to exercise closer to your maximum heart rate will improve.

Did you know that to lose approximately one pound of fat, an average adult would have to walk 30 miles? You don't have to walk those 30 miles all at once.

If you consume 100 calories a day more than you need, you will gain about 10 pounds in a year.  A reasonable combination of diet and exercise can help control your weight.  The key is to balance your caloric intake with the amount of exercise.

You can increase your maximum oxygen consumption by approximately 15% when you work out three times a week for at least 30 minutes at 70% of your maximum heart rate.
