Salomon Pro Sticky Low 2 Shoe - Men's

The Salomon Pro Sticky Low 2 is an outstanding low-cut climbing approach shoe. This is the shoe to wear on approaches that deserve a tougher rating than the 5.10c you're trying to reach. Traction and stickiness are the Pro's main attraction thanks to the Mountain Contagrip sole. Rubber randing provides toe protection, and the split suede leather upper shields your foot from scree and scrub. Asymmetrical lacing and a felt sockliner provide a comfortable fit.

Salomon Pro Sticky Low 2 shoe
I've been looking at getting approach shoes for a while, but I was just waiting for the right shoe at the right price. I'm glad I waited because these shoes are excellent. They are, by far, the most comfortable shoe I’ve ever owned, even compared to slippers, sneakers, dress shoes, etc. The asymmetrical lacing pulls the shoe tight to all the contours of my foot, without the “foot-binding” feeling of a true climbing shoe. I wish all my shoes had this kind of lacing system. I also love their unique look, and get lots of inquiries wherever I where them, which is everywhere now. They’re great for quick casual trips to the gym or nearby boulder. I would recommend to anyone, even suggest them as a beginner’s climbing shoe or substitute for the real thing.

Pro Sticky Low Mens
This is an excellent shoe that sticks to everything. The only issue is that the laces are very long, but it doesn’t impact the performance. Highly recommend.

Salomon Pro Sticky Low
Sweet approach shoe. The sole on the shoe grips well on all types of rock. The solid shank in the shoe provides stability in rough terrain. Excellent for bouldering and scrambling. If you like the Garmont Sticky Weekend you will love the Salomonn Pro Sticky.

Call them butter- cuz they're smooth
I got my first pair of these not really knowing what to expect. After climbing a 11,750 ft peak overnight in the rain, I fell in love. The sole is honestly- reallllllyyy sticky! And they provide really good support for a low. Beware people with bad arches- you will need to have an insert. The shoe is very flat. But I would recommend it to all.

Training Tips

If you consume 100 calories a day more than you need, you will gain about 10 pounds in a year.  A reasonable combination of diet and exercise can help control your weight.  The key is to balance your caloric intake with the amount of exercise.

You can increase your maximum oxygen consumption by approximately 15% when you work out three times a week for at least 30 minutes at 70% of your maximum heart rate.

Low weight, high rep circuit training combines the best of both worlds: aerobic and anaerobic training.  Keeping the rest time in between high repeats low excercises like bench press, leg presses, inclined sit-ups, and upright rows is the key to maximum benefits.

As a long distance runner, a gradual increase in distance each week will allow you to build a solid areobic base.  Distance increase should be no more than 10% of the previous week's distance.
