The North Face Yavapai Backpack - 1850 cu in

The backpack that set the standards for technical day and school packs is back. The North Face Yavapai is the perfect size for books and papers, but sports technical suspension like a hiking pack so you'll be able to carry it all day in sublime comfort. A laminated backpanel with breathable mesh and air channels is a godsend on hot sweaty days, aided by a hydration sleeve and port as well as mesh bottle sleeves on either side. The hipbelt tucks away when you don't need it, and the bomber fabric and YKK zipper will last you for years. Don't mess around with lesser packs; snag the Yavapai. *Water bottles not included.

Very sexy back pack!
This backpack is awesome! I choose it over the Recon II, and am glad I did. I got the all black Yavapai II and I have to say, it looks very nice. It looks better than the pictures. The straps feel very comfortable and when using the hip and chest strap, your back feels hardly any stress at all. There's a neat safe-t whistle on the chest strap buckle...a nice touch..incase you ever get trapped or somthing while camping or biking or what not. Delivery was super fast! My only complaints are that the bag came slightly wrinkled..probably from sitting cramped with many other bags at the warehouse..And the zippers have these plastic northface things on them..some of them weren't clamped shut all the way..had to squeeze them to death to fix it..you'll know what i mean when you buy this bag. Nonetheless buy it!

I'm so glad I chose this backpack!
I could not make up my mind which backpack to choose and am very happy with my choice of the Yavapai. I work full-time and go to school full-time, so it is important that I have enough room to carry everything I need for both - and be organized. This backpack provides not only plenty of room and all sorts of well designed pockets, but it is not huge. This makes it easy to carry with me everywhere. This is a fantastic backpack & Backcountry's shipping is faster than anyone else!

Yavapai II Backpack
What a great backpack. I have the Yavapai I, and bought the II for my girlfriend. She enjoys having the great support and numerous features built into the bag. She moved from a Jansport backpack, which she felt was too heavy and unsupportive. This new one has great support and feels great when being worn. Lots of padding, nicely placed buckles, and awesome material show that Northface definitely did their research on this one.

yavapai Backpack
I purchased the Yavapai Backpack as a birthday present. The person loved it and has used it almost every day for work, on his motorcycle and for weekend trips. It is pretty spacious with lots of pockets for keys, cell phone, wallet and a main compartment big enough for shoes/books whatever. Also, the front design is really cool and attractive.

Excellent Pack
Well designed with lots of pockets and a very comfortable strap system. I've used it for both day hikes and climbs and have no complaints. My favorite small pack.

Training Tips

Did you know that to lose approximately one pound of fat, an average adult would have to walk 30 miles? You don't have to walk those 30 miles all at once.

If you consume 100 calories a day more than you need, you will gain about 10 pounds in a year.  A reasonable combination of diet and exercise can help control your weight.  The key is to balance your caloric intake with the amount of exercise.

You can increase your maximum oxygen consumption by approximately 15% when you work out three times a week for at least 30 minutes at 70% of your maximum heart rate.

Low weight, high rep circuit training combines the best of both worlds: aerobic and anaerobic training.  Keeping the rest time in between high repeats low excercises like bench press, leg presses, inclined sit-ups, and upright rows is the key to maximum benefits.
