DAKINE Nomad Backpack - 1100 cu in
The DAKINE Nomad pack combines unique features with hydration functionality. Designed for cross country and freeride mountain biking, you'll find details competitors' packs just don't have, like a mesh pocket sized to hold a helmet and compression straps for body armor. The 100 oz (3 L) Flowlock reservoir keeps hydration in easy reach as you ride. A compression-molded back panel holds the pack's shape regardless of load size and drop down organizer pockets keep your gear separated and easy to find. Breathable Dri-Mesh shoulder straps and an adjustable sternum and waist belt keep moisture off your skin and the pack in place to avoid nasty rubs. Protection for your eye protection is included with a fleece-lined sunglasses pocket to eliminate scratched and misplaced shades.

Detailed I bought the DAKINE Nomad a couple of weeks ago, and let it sit around the house for a few days before deciding to actually remove the tags--I was worried it was a bit too big. I've ridden with a Camelbak Mule for about 7 years, and the DAKINE was a big step up in size. However, I was lucky enough to test it out in Moab, UT this weekend and man did this thing shine. I got a flat riding Porcupine Rim trail and was able to fix it in record time because all my tools, spare tubes, etc., were organized so well. The only problem I had was a kink in the hydration tube, which reduced/shut off water flow. Once I figured out I could change the angle that the tube attached to the reservoir (duh), the problem was immediately solved. All I can say is, this pack is definitely worth the extra weight. Incredibly well-designed and thought-out!
Great pack and size I just got it and used it twice this past weekend. I love it. I thought it might be too big but you can cinch it down so it is super tight against your back. I love all the pockets and the look is sooo cool. The price is worth it considering smaller packs cost this much. As the season goes on and my rides increase there is ample storage for food, tools and clothing. Great pack from a great company.

Training Tips
Have two pairs of running shoes, especially if you live in a wet climate. Consider replacing your shoes no later than 500 miles into the life of the shoes.
Proper hydration for a run includes drinking 30 - 45 minutes before you start and about a cup every 10 - 15 minutes while running.

One of the best ways to win a running race is to win it in your mind first. Visualize yourself running and winning that important race. The more often you do this, you will start to "feel" the race. Your heart will get pumping and your body will feel the effort required to get the job done.
Be serious about getting and staying in shape. Create a written plan that outlines the steps you are taking and the expected result by a certain date. Review your plan frequently and adjust as necessary. Do what it takes to get what you want.
