Black Diamond D9 Shovel

A virtual backhoe, the D9 is built for moving masses of snow, slush and chunks. Sporting Black Diamond's largest, most durable aluminum blade, users will find a serrated edge atop the blade to reduce boot slippage when stomping in deep. The D-grip provides a solid, bomber hold, while a telescoping handle allows for enough leverage to pry apart refrozen-block piles. Perfect for patrollers and pros, for basecamp construction or kicker building… the D9 does it all.

Very happy with the Black Diamond D9 shovel.
I live in Southeast Alaska where the snow can be quite icy. My son and I compete every year at the annual BSA Frostbite Challenge near White Pass (of Klondyke Gold rush fame.)( Best designed snow caves and igloos)The D9 is the King of shovels! To get our snow cave or igloo dug before the sun goes down, we're shovelling mad men. I've use other name brand shovels but none compare. (at all!) The quality is top notch! The paint stays on in cold temps. (Unlike other brands!) Thanks BD

Solid
This is one solid shovel. I think I'll save it for the snow but I could use it to cut out chunks of concrete from my driveway. The blade was a bit larger than I was expecting but I'm really happy with the shovel.

Training Tips

The four components of good fitness include flexibility, muscular endurance, muscular strength, and cardiorespiratory endurance.  For optimum health, include at least two of these groups in three workouts per week.

Your fitness level will improve by overloading, working your body hard enough to stimulate the body, progression, increasing the frequency, intensity, and duration of exercise over time, and regularity, working out frequently, at least three times a week.

As your fitness improves over time by following a carefully planned fitness program, your ability to exercise closer to your maximum heart rate will improve.

Did you know that to lose approximately one pound of fat, an average adult would have to walk 30 miles? You don't have to walk those 30 miles all at once.
