Scarpa Magic Alpine Touring Boot - Womens
Built on a women-specific last with a scalloped cuff to accommodate curvy calves, the Scarpa Magic Alpine Touring Boot is a true women's AT boot. Like its little brother, the Laser [BLD0601], this boot handles itself brilliantly on both the uphill slog and downhill dance. Three micro-adjustable buckles and a Dual-density custom-moldable liner make this one of the best fitting boots around, while a stiff cuff (molded to fit woman's leg) and power strap increase the skier's ability to really drive their boards on edge. The cliff notes: You'll feel better and ski better in these boots.

Magic Scarpa boots Crested Butte has 42% of the finest expert terrain in North America. Some of which is lift accessible and some of which you have to hike to. I decided that I was frustrated with the confines of alpine skiing and decided that I wanted gear that can do both alpine and backcountry. I am currently skiing terrain that I was once afraid to try. The Scarpa Magic boot is an excellent choice for women reaching a higher level expertise. I suggest buying 1½ or 2 sizes smaller than your shoe size. Sizing is important or the boot doesn't work.
Excellent AT Boots My wife has been very happy with these boots (so much that she never uses her alpine downhill boots anymore, even for lift-served skiing), although we swapped in the liners from her alpine downhill boots since they worked better than the stock Scarpa liners. Only major drawback has been a broken hinge on a buckle. Scarpa will be introducing its Thermoflex-style lines for the 2004 season (previously available only in Europe), which should produce some significant weight savings.
