X Wave 9.0 is the best! The Salomon X Wave 9.0 ski boots fit my feet like a glove. It is the first boot that I have ever purchased that was comfortable out of the box and yet very responsive on the slopes. I replaced the Salomon footbed with a "Superfeet" footbed to improve performance and took advantage of the X Wave 9.0's canting adjustment. I am fine tuning the boots to eliminate a slight heel lift. The X Wave 9.0 is the best ski boot that I have ever had and am extremely satisfied with both fit and performance.
season enders These boots are the most uncomfortable things I have ever forced my feet into. I've used them twice and both times hoping they would break-in quickly. I had to quit early both times because of the pain. The first time I tried them my feet were completely numb before I even got off the first lift. By the end of the day they had softened up a bit so I figured that they would be fine the next time. They were much softer the second time and my feet did not go numb at all. But when I took my boots off after the second time I found that the nails on my two big toes were completely black and too painful to even walk. An easy rule of thumb that I wish Salomon or the techs that supposedly helped me fit the boots would have taken into consideration: The boot should be broken in to fit the feet. The feet are not supposed to break in to fit the boot.

Training Tips
Cross training gives your body a chance to recover while still exercising. If yesterday has a hard run day up and down hills, then today's bicycle ride gives your aching knees a well deserved break.
Anaeroic threshold is when lactic acid starts to build up in your body as your muscles are not getting the oxygen they require. This threshold is typically expressed as a percentage of your VO2 max - the amount of oxygen per kilogram of weight that a person can use in converting fuel to energy. Elite athletes threshold might be as high as 90% of VO2 max.

Efficient running position allows you to run farther and faster. Keep the heel raise to a minimum, relax your upper body and hands, keep your upper body poised and quiet.
If you want to make progess in your training, join a running group. A commitment to meet on a regular basis with a group of like minded individuals will help you keep your focus.
