Rossignol Axial 120 T-Plate S Alpine Binding

The Rossignol Axial 120 T-Plate S alpine ski binding is built for skiers who ride with power, speed and aggression. If you’re straightlining an Alaskan face, pre-release is the last thing you need to worry about. When you’re skiing aggressively through spring crud, or hop-turning down a thin, steep chute in the backcountry, it’s imperative you’ve got both skis on. Enter the Axial 120. This guy has a DIN setting up to 12, and enough vertical and horizontal elastic travel to let you lever through terminal velocity without fear. (At least without the fear you’ll pop out.) This also applies to hucking in the backcountry, where a lost ski could spell disaster. The 120's seven contact points between boot and binding, versus the conventional three, provide optimum turn control, faster turn sequences, and a powerful grasp on the boot. The titanium plates provide 6mm of lift to help you carve and edge more precisely, squeezing as much power from your skis as possible. The titanium components keep the binding light. When you do need to release, the 120 lets your boot go from virtually any direction, reducing torque on your limbs. The Axitec 2 technology lets your boot slide out of the binding smoothly, eliminating friction.

Training Tips

If you want to make progess in your training, join a running group.  A commitment to meet on a regular basis with a group of like minded individuals will help you keep your focus.

An efficient long distance running stride will have you landing on your heal first and rolling to the front of your toes.

One of the most mentally toughening things you can do as a runner who trains daily is to add a morning run into your routine.  This means you are doing two runs a day.  The morning run is simply more of a mental challenge then anything else.

Have two pairs of running shoes, especially if you live in a wet climate.  Consider replacing your shoes no later than 500 miles into the life of the shoes.
