Atomic Neox 412 Alpine Binding

Atomic freely admits that the Neox 412 Alpine Binding looks kinda ugly. The good news is that it skis real pretty-like. The Neox gives you more fun with less risk, thanks to a bevy of ingenious safety and performance features. Fullflex Twin design means the Neox lets your whole ski flex so you get the full benefit from those high-tech planks. A moveable AFD plate under the toe and backward release system let you recover fully if you keep it together, and let you loose no matter which crazy direction you fall in. A laser-print DIN Scale that gets individually tested and printed at the factory ensures you get exactly the release setting you specify. With metal reinforcements and a versatile DIN range of 4-12, the Neox delivers for your all-mountain style.

Built Tough
The new Atomic Neox bindings are burly and built to last. I only skied them for one day but they functioned flawlessly. I want to make sure everyone knows Marker bindings are the worst bindings on the market. When it comes to bindings you need to buy the best you can or the ones recommended for your skis. My favorite binding companies in order of preference are Look/Rossi, Tyrolia, Line, Atomic, and Salomon. Next time you are in the tram line at Snowbird or Jackson Hole take note what bindings the locals use. These are the bindings that are safe and durable.

Neox Mounting Headache
Atomic provides no template and no instuction with regard to mounting the Neox on LAST YEAR'S Atomic R:EX skis. In fact Atomic said that their new binding is not compatible with last year's ski... While I'm sure we could have mounted them, we went with a Marker Piston Control Titanium. Better looking, better product. Wait for Atomic to refine Neox in the future, or better yet, go with Marker!

Training Tips

As your fitness improves over time by following a carefully planned fitness program, your ability to exercise closer to your maximum heart rate will improve.

Did you know that to lose approximately one pound of fat, an average adult would have to walk 30 miles? You don't have to walk those 30 miles all at once.

If you consume 100 calories a day more than you need, you will gain about 10 pounds in a year.  A reasonable combination of diet and exercise can help control your weight.  The key is to balance your caloric intake with the amount of exercise.

You can increase your maximum oxygen consumption by approximately 15% when you work out three times a week for at least 30 minutes at 70% of your maximum heart rate.
