CAMP USA Silver Star Climbing Helmet

The CAMP Silver Star Climbing Helmet is the best way to protect your precious melon while staying comfy on a face. A compact design and an efficient adjustment system enhance your comfort and won't make you look like an astronaut. The Silver Star's ABS shell provides awesome protection from rapidly approaching rock as well as whatever horrors you expose it to in your car. The nylon inner structure is lined with breathable, antibacterial mesh (read as: stink-proof) and mesh-covered vents on both sides let air circulate. Camp has equipped the Silver Star with headlamp clips in case your adventures are in the dark.

Easily adjustable, extremely light on the head
This helmet was awarded the "Editors Choice" award from Climbing Magazine for good reason. It is extremely light on the head, and accomodates head lamps excellently. It is extremely light on the head. In fact, my headlamp is more noticeable on my head when hiking a long distance than this helmet is. (Note to self: time to get a new headlamp) The best feature, I think, is the extremely easy adjustements. There is only one place you have to adjust the size, and it takes care of the rest. (Of course, you can fine tune the fit of the chin straps if you desire.) This helmet is designed for both Kayaking and Climbing - so you don't have to worry about what happens to it if it gets wet... Which in the case of canyoneering a tough canyon (ie heaps) is most likely the case.

Training Tips

Your fitness level will improve by overloading, working your body hard enough to stimulate the body, progression, increasing the frequency, intensity, and duration of exercise over time, and regularity, working out frequently, at least three times a week.

As your fitness improves over time by following a carefully planned fitness program, your ability to exercise closer to your maximum heart rate will improve.

Did you know that to lose approximately one pound of fat, an average adult would have to walk 30 miles? You don't have to walk those 30 miles all at once.

If you consume 100 calories a day more than you need, you will gain about 10 pounds in a year.  A reasonable combination of diet and exercise can help control your weight.  The key is to balance your caloric intake with the amount of exercise.
